Before Hardwood Installation
Knowing what to expect before your hardwood installation can help make for a more seamless and relaxing process.
Before your hardwood installation:
- You will discuss goals and an installation plan with your crew. On the day of your installation, a walk-through will be completed, and you will be able to ask any questions that you might have.
- You should ensure that children and pets are not near where the installation will occur.
- Discuss subflooring and any preparation work that might need to be completed with your crew.
During & After Your Hardwood Installation
On the installation day, you can expect the following:
- Our crew will arrive on time and will complete a walk-through with you. They will discuss overall goals, a timetable for completion, and whatever else comes to mind.
- From there, the installation will begin. The process may vary depending on the size of the job and the installation method discussed.
- For a glue-down hardwood installation, the general process involves spreading adhesives on your subflooring and laying the hardwood planks individually.
- For a nail-down hardwood installation, a similar process will be followed as the glue-down installation, but instead, the crew will use nails instead of adhesive.
- Once finished, you will assess the work with our team.
After installation:
- Run a fan to remove installation-related smells.
- Allow 24 hours for your flooring to settle.
